Thigh Chafing: The Best Product to Prevent Chub Rub

February 21, 2018 By Stephanie Hope 4 Comments

I have never had a thigh gap. Even when I had a horrible eating disorder and whittled myself down to 90 pounds, my thighs still touched. What can I say? They obviously are bonded sisters. Mermaid thighs, if you will.  As much as I love my thighs, there’s something I do always have an issue with in the Spring/Summer: thigh chafing. Even for running, I get horribly chafed thighs when I wear my running shorts. This is why I’ve teamed up with Thigh Guards USA to show you guys my new favorite product! *This post is sponsored, but all opinions are my own.

Wearing these during a short run is seriously awesome! I get the worse thigh chafing during my runs and the cream I buy doesn’t really work very long. It’s nice to just be able to slip these on and not have to worry about the cream wearing off. They have a double grip on the bottom and top of the guard which keep it from sliding around. I haven’t had any issue with that yet! It does stick out below my shorts, but I honestly did not care at all! I’m wearing the size 2 in Nude here!

You can see it squeezes into my thighs, but it was not uncomfortable at all! It actually made me feel more at ease knowing that it was so secure on my thighs. My only negative I have to say is that it kind of pushes the fat on the top of my inner thigh out, but no one will see that unless you’re… not wearing any pants! These are honestly just great for running, walking, or any type of activity you’ll be doing outside on a hot day!

These are another style you can purchase which are such a pretty deep red lace. These would be great if you’re wearing something dressier and there may be a chance your thighs might show! It looks super sexy and they still work just as effectively as the nude ones do. I would absolutely wear these during the Spring/Summer when we’re going on adventures because it actually keeps me feeling comfortable.

A negative for me, which is not the company’s fault at all, is that they are quite wide. Obviously this is to cover the thigh enough to prevent chafing, but I probably couldn’t wear these with regular short shorts without feeling super weird that they were showing. However, for skirts, dresses, and exercising, I think this is an absolutely great product!

I’m excited to spend this Summer not sweating in pants or dealing with super painful chafing on my thighs! Mermaid thighs for life! You can get this product here!

i still can’t believe there’s a wee baby insid i still can’t believe there’s a wee baby inside my body right now ready to come out soon. just squirming around, hiccuping. it’s so unreal. the fact that my body just knows what to do despite spending my entire adult life convinced i 1. didn’t want a child and 2. wasn’t capable of being a (good) mother.

if i’m being honest, my fears came from my poor relationship with my own mother. i was raised to be afraid, to never feel like i would be good enough (spoiler alert: never was to her!) but to constantly try, and to feel like i had to buy love from people around me. now i know better. i know that i can just love my daughter unconditionally, help her see that i will ALWAYS be her safe space and never the thing to be afraid of, and that she never has to buy my love.

being a mom is something i never thought i would do, but i am ready to dive in and be the mother i always wanted growing up but never had. 💕 Photos are all from @jaceyanastasio ! #motherhood #pregnancyjourney #maternityshoot
I don’t see my stretch marks as battle scars, ti I don’t see my stretch marks as battle scars, tiger stripes, or a badge of honor. To me, they’re just skin stretching—because that’s what skin does. It doesn’t have to carry a deeper meaning or be a symbol of anything. It doesn’t have to be proof that I’m a mom to make me feel like a mom. My motherhood isn’t defined by the marks on my body; it’s in the love I give, the patience I practice, and the moments that shape this journey.

I don’t need to call my stretch marks anything to accept them, and for me, that’s freeing. They’re not good or bad, beautiful or ugly—they just are. A natural part of being human, of growing, of changing.

That being said, if giving them a name or a purpose helps you embrace them, that’s amazing! Every mom’s journey is different, and so is the way we process the changes that come with it. This is simply what works for me—letting my body be, without pressure to find meaning in every mark. No labels needed, no justification required. Just me, existing as I am. #pregnancyjourney #stretchmarks #pregnancyphotoshoot #maternityshoot
