I absolutely love listening to music while I work, but it needs to be specific music. If it’s too loud and busy, it distracts me. Music that is too soothing may even put my to sleep! I have a few go-to Spotify playlists for work that I wanted to share with you! I do also use Pandora, but that will be a separate blog post!
Brain Food
I have to start this list with my absolute favorite playlist for working and that’s Brain Food. Most of the songs on this playlist are instrumental beats and feature artists like Galimatias, Deadmau5, What So Not, and TAICO. I would categorize this playlist into Downtempo. It’s very ambient and perfect to just have music playing in the background while you work.
I highly recommend this playlist if you are easily distracted by lyrics!
Your Favorite Coffeehouse
This playlist is fantastic to play over the Coffitivity app I talk about all the time! If you don’t know, Coffitivity is an app that places ambient coffee shop noises in the background of your music. This gives the illusion that you’re doing work at a shop! It’s actually been proving to increase your productivity and I will always recommend it to people.
Pair this app with this playlist and you have the perfect coffeeshop work session! All you need now is a nice cup of joe to really bring yourself into your work. Some artists on this playlist is Kina Grannis, The Lumineers, and Passenger.
Summer Acoustic
I personally find it very calming to listen to acoustic music while working. The artists usually have a calm voice and it just makes me feel so good when I work while listen to it! This particular playlist makes me feel like I am enjoying a warm Summer breeze on a sunny day. A few artists in this playlist are Fleet Foxes, Ray LaMontagne, Hozier, and The Paper Kites.
This is a great playlist if you love singer/songwriter music!
Lounge- Soft House
Just like the name states, this playlist is full of Soft House music. The style of music really is very lounge-like. It sounds like something I’d hear in a very chic bar & lounge. It’s not too distracting but there are definitely lots of beats in these songs to get you pumped.
Some artists are Emma Brammer, Gary Luton, and Adriatique. I don’t listen to this one too often, as I definitely have to be in a specific mood for this one. However, listening to this playlist while working on our lounge in the porch is quite magical if I do say so myself!
Café con Leche
Obviously that is Spanish for Coffee with Milk. This playlist is very similar to the English Coffeehouse playlist, except it’s all Spanish songs. It’s honestly a refreshing change from the usual Spanish songs you probably know which are very lively. I love listening to this playlist when I’m feeling like getting into my Hispanic roots for the day. The music is very calming and has this magical romance to the songs that make you feel so happy.
Some artists in this playlist are Vicente Garcia, Niña Tormenta, and Sofia Macchi.
Rainy Day
In case you haven’t noticed yet, I have a pretty specific theme of music I like to listen to while I work out. I find that I’m more productive when I listen to calmer music that don’t distract me from my work. This playlist is like a combination of Coffeehouse and Brainfood with artists like Bon Iver, Hozier, The National, and Iron & Wine.
Like the name states, it really is a great playlist to listen to on a Sunday morning during a rainy day.
What’s some of your favorite playlists? I love to listen to new music! Let me know in the comments!
