I Bought An Entire Outfit on Poshmark!

April 18, 2018 By Stephanie Hope 1 Comment

I have always wanted to do an fashion challenge where I could buy an entire outfit somewhere and make something super cute. I am so lucky to be able to work with Poshmark and create this “Poshmark Challenge”! This post is sponsored, but I chose the outfit and all opinions are 100% my own!

What is Poshmark?

Poshmark is an online marketplace where you can buy & sell fashion. They have over 5,000 brands being sold at discounted prices for you to buy. You can also sell your own clothes for either cash or shop credits to buy something you’d really love.

The Challenge

My challenge is to create an entire outfit with items I bought on Poshmark! I wanted to go for a Spring look that still matched my style. This needed to be a super personal challenge! Anyone can create a random outfit, but it’s not easy to find pieces that go together to create your exact style. I’m proud to say that I absolutely nailed this challenge! The entire outfit costs $118.94 with $38.94 being shipping which I’ll explain later!

I can’t express how much I absolutely love this outfit! Every piece (minus the shoes) fit me so well and that’s always a gamble with online shopping! The entire outfit includes:

  • Straw Sun Hat $15
  • H&M Bird Blouse $8
  • Cognac Brown High Waisted Belt $5
  • J. Crew Mustard Skirt $20
  • ASOS Mary Jane Heels $22
  • Woven Handbag $10

As far as shipping goes, I would definitely say this is one of my cons about the site. Each seller sells their items with $6.49 shipping. If you buy each item from different sellers like I did, it’s $6.49 each item which can quickly add up. However, you can buy many items from the same seller and save on shipping! You can also offer a different price and bargain with sellers to get a better deal for your buck. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and a seller will even lower the shipping price to $4.99!

I got so many compliments while wearing this outfit! It was definitely a double-take outfit for some reason! Probably the bright, sunny colors! I also absolutely love this handbag! It is the pure definition of Spring, isn’t it?! I love how well it matches this thick crochet belt band!

I absolutely love this shoes, but unfortunately they didn’t fit very well despite being my size! They’re an ASOS size 5, but you can see in the photo that they’re a little bit large on me. Thankfully the strap kept my foot in the shoe! I still absolutely love them and this beautiful nude color. I’m also really impressed in the condition of the heels.

This is me waving to a cat I saw in a window! The look on the lady’s face behind me is actually the look I got from a lot of people in this outfit! There’s something so bright and happy about it, it must be contagious!

Final Thoughts

This is definitely an app I will continue to use when I have around $100 and just buy entire outfits with! It was really fun to put all of these pieces together. I also found it really easy to navigate when I had a specific style and outfit in mind to choose so I wasn’t mindlessly scrolling. I do think the shipping is a bit expensive, but there’s lots of ways to save money around that price, so I definitely believe it’s worth the effort to check the site out!

If you do sign up, follow me @letinyherbivore so we can be Posh Friends! So what do you guys think of the outfit? Let me know in the comments!

i still can’t believe there’s a wee baby insid i still can’t believe there’s a wee baby inside my body right now ready to come out soon. just squirming around, hiccuping. it’s so unreal. the fact that my body just knows what to do despite spending my entire adult life convinced i 1. didn’t want a child and 2. wasn’t capable of being a (good) mother.

if i’m being honest, my fears came from my poor relationship with my own mother. i was raised to be afraid, to never feel like i would be good enough (spoiler alert: never was to her!) but to constantly try, and to feel like i had to buy love from people around me. now i know better. i know that i can just love my daughter unconditionally, help her see that i will ALWAYS be her safe space and never the thing to be afraid of, and that she never has to buy my love.

being a mom is something i never thought i would do, but i am ready to dive in and be the mother i always wanted growing up but never had. 💕 Photos are all from @jaceyanastasio ! #motherhood #pregnancyjourney #maternityshoot
I don’t see my stretch marks as battle scars, ti I don’t see my stretch marks as battle scars, tiger stripes, or a badge of honor. To me, they’re just skin stretching—because that’s what skin does. It doesn’t have to carry a deeper meaning or be a symbol of anything. It doesn’t have to be proof that I’m a mom to make me feel like a mom. My motherhood isn’t defined by the marks on my body; it’s in the love I give, the patience I practice, and the moments that shape this journey.

I don’t need to call my stretch marks anything to accept them, and for me, that’s freeing. They’re not good or bad, beautiful or ugly—they just are. A natural part of being human, of growing, of changing.

That being said, if giving them a name or a purpose helps you embrace them, that’s amazing! Every mom’s journey is different, and so is the way we process the changes that come with it. This is simply what works for me—letting my body be, without pressure to find meaning in every mark. No labels needed, no justification required. Just me, existing as I am. #pregnancyjourney #stretchmarks #pregnancyphotoshoot #maternityshoot
