Recently Cassey Ho, founder of Blogilates released her new fitness app PIIT Pocket. Blogilates is a youtube channel (and blog) that focuses on creating exercise videos using her PopPilates method. She has become incredibly successful with her youtube, clothing line, and fitness programs such as the PIIT28. PIIT28 is what inspired this app and I’m going to talk all about them! This is the PIIT Pocket App Review!
PIIT28
PIIT28 started out as a fitness program you could buy from Blogilates. PIIT stands for Pilates Intense Interval Training, similar to HIIT. The program is basically 4 rounds of 7 intense moves at 45 seconds on with 15 seconds of rest. If you do all four rounds, it will be a full body, intense 28 minute workout.
Cassey started with PIIT 1.0, and now has up to 3.0. Each program is 4 weeks worth of exercises for 6 days a week with 1 rest day. Makes sense? Great! Now comes the new PIIT Pocket! By the way, each of those programs were sold separately.
PIIT Pocket
The app is free to download, but pretty much useless unless you purchase a membership. You can, however, try out the first three days of PIIT 1.0 and see if you like it. If you do end up wanting to try it out, the membership is $9.99 a month for full access or $100.00 for a whole year. The full access pass gets you 100% unlimited access to all current and future PIIT28 workout programs, all 280+ recipes from Cassey’s 28 Day Reset, and the ability to build and schedule your own workout routines and meal plans.
PIIT Program
Some of the workouts on the app are burpees, plank jacks, fast squats, high knees, and the triple crunch! I don’t want to name any more because I really think you should try out the app yourself! The seven workouts you get in one day usually will target your entire body and give you a pretty intense total body workout. Cassey’s voice guides you through the entire workout, letting you know when to rest and when to start the next move. She also tells you which move is next which is incredibly helpful so you don’t have to look at your phone for the next step.
Custom Workout
One of my favorite features of the app is the ability to make your own PIIT workout. I love Cassey’s pre-picked moves, but sometimes there’s a move that I just absolutely hate or I don’t think is intense enough. You can choose from all of her workouts she has on the app, name it, and save it for future use!
Calendar
In the app, one of the features is the calendar. Here, you can add your workouts and meals on each day and keep yourself organized and ready to go! If you go on to PIIT 1.0 and add the entire workout to your calendar, it will save them on the first date you mentioned and be completely scheduled (including rest day) for your convenience! Another one of my favorite features.
Meal
There are well over 300 recipes on the app, and has meal planning capabilities which is pretty amazing! She has tons of dietary options, even vegetarian and vegan options! The recipe will have nutritional value, photos, and a very easy to follow instruction to create the meal yourself.
My Thoughts
If you’re the kind of person who either hates the gym, is always on-the-go, or wants to try something new, I highly recommend trying the app! It’s fun to use, you have all of your workouts ready to go, it’s organized, and a great way to kickstart your new healthy lifestyle if you’re just starting! As for the price, I think it’s well priced for everything you get. You pay $10-$35 a month for a gym membership and most of the time don’t go or don’t know what to do. For $10, you have all of your workouts planned and can even meal plan if you’d like!
Pros
- Customizable workouts
- Vegan recipes (28 Day Vegan Reset!)
- Calendar to organize the workouts
- Ability to play your music while you run the app
Cons
- Can’t turn off your phone and have it still run while working out (at least not on my phone). I have tried to put my phone away in my pocket but still workout and did the same move for well over 1.5 minutes wondering why it hasn’t been 45 seconds yet.
- Would love to have the options to create grocery lists with the meals for the week. It’s not necessary but would be convenient!
For only $10 a month, you get a pretty amazing program right on your phone. I’m sure there will be more workouts and meals added as time goes on, but for now it’s great just how it is. This is by far, one of my favorite apps on my phone and keeps me healthy and happy. If you end up trying it out, let me know what you think in the comments!
