I have an older version of the iPhone so basically I have no storage space. It takes a great app for me to keep it on my phone, and for that reason I wanted to make this list of my must-have lifestyle apps! I absolutely love checking out new apps so I’m constantly updating what I use and love, but this is my current obsessions. Some of these you may recognized from other blog posts (like this one!). At least I’m consistent! I have been trying some new apps I really want to share as well!
1. PIITPocket
If you don’t know who Blogilates is, she is a youtuber who has created her own pilates training as well as PIIT. PIIT is Pilates Intense Interval Training. This app is actually pretty new, but so far I absolutely love it. Basically her PIIT workout consists of 7 moves, 45 seconds on 15 seconds rest, and 4 rounds of this. You will get a total body workout in 28 minutes! Originally she had a program you could buy and just use the printables, but now Cassey has created this amazing app! It’s very user friendly, you can follow her programs or create your own workout with her moves. You can also listen to music while you use it!
One of my favorite features is the ability to create my own PIIT workout and also adding them to the calendar so I can schedule my exercises! Cassey also included a meal plan section where you can try out her recipes! The app is free, but you’ll need a membership to use certain things. I think it’s 9.99 a month, but if you workout a lot or don’t have a lot of time, I really recommend this!
2. iScanner App
This isn’t really a “fun” app, but it’s so incredibly useful for me. There are so many times I need to send over W9’s to brands or sign contracts and I can’t sign it through the computer. This app will basically scan a piece of paper using the camera function and turn the photo into a PDF! I actually will be using this today! It’s free and really helpful if you are on the go constantly or don’t own a printer/scanner. Oh, how technology has progressed.
3. Lake
This isn’t really what you think it might be. It’s actually an app where you color! This isn’t like one of those coloring apps where you just tap and it colors the object completely. You actually have options like a paint brush, a spray can, or you can use the paint bucket and do what I just mentioned! You have the option to add the “fill inside the lines” feature where you won’t paint outside of the outline, but you can keep it more naturally and try to paint carefully!
I find it incredibly relaxing! The great thing is, you can purchase individual coloring books made by real artists for usually around $2.99. What makes it so great is that the money actually goes to the artist who created it! What an amazing way to support artists!
I really recommend you check this app out!
4. DownDog
I will never not promote this app! It’s one of my absolute favorites! If you don’t know, this is an app for yoga! I currently have the member subscription, but you can have the app for free and still get plenty of neat features. However, in the paid version you get extra boosts! The app has short and long practices ranging from 20 minutes to 80 minutes with levels in beginners as well as advanced! It plays pretty great music and the guided voice is incredibly soothing and helpful.
If you have the paid version, you can decrease how much the person talks and also add boosts that will add a session focusing on specific moves for flexibility, hip opening, lower back, aerobic, etc. If you like the session you did, you can save it and do it again! I have noticed that I have never done the same session (at least I haven’t noticed) which is pretty great! I can get bored really easily.
5. Timepage
This is actually a relatively new app for me. I have been trying different scheduling apps for a few weeks now to no avail. I just can’t seem to find an app that will provide me with the features I truly need. Sometimes they get close, but then I think the layout is too busy or just complicated so I stop using it.
Timepage is by Moleskine, which is the same company that created my bullet journal so I was excited to try this out. The layout of the app is pretty beautiful for me. It’s clean and minimal! This is a membership app which is $1.99 a month of $11.99 a year which I believe is a pretty great deal. I love that the first page you see is your weekly layout and not the calendar which immediately stresses me out for some reason. Being able to see my weekly events and to-do’s is definitely a plus for me.
