Winter is coming to an end here in the Northeast shortly, which means it’s almost time to start Spring cleaning! During the cold season, I feel like we go into hibernation/hoarding mode and just keep everything in stacks around the apartment. To keep us from auditioning for the Hoarding: Buried Alive show, I have created this guide of items currently in my shopping cart. Hopefully this kick-starts our home organization!
1. Cube Storage Bookcase
I used to have two of these in white. I made the dumb mistake of selling them and now I miss them. These are a great way to keep stuff organized in any room. I would use baskets in them to keep it looking neat.
You can get this here! You can also get some baskets here!
2. Storage Bench
I have always wanted one of these fancy looking benches in front of my bed. James just got us this beautiful bench under our window in the bedroom, and it’s my favorite thing in there! I love this because it flips up to have lots of storage space for extra pillows and blankets!

3. Storage Ottoman
There is no better way to hide unsightly things but also have a little foot rest than owning a ottoman. They also help to provide extra seating if you live in a small space! We currently have one in the living and one in our walk-in closet. Both are filled with random stuff that don’t need to be out in the open! Definitely an effective way to have storage AND seating in one!
You can get this ottoman here
4. Storage Baskets
There is nothing I truly love more than a good ol’ storage basket. They are perfect for putting blankets, toys, linen, yarn, you name it! I do prefer the crochet style, so what better company to use than Berkshire Crochet Co? I absolutely love her handmade crochet baskets and I highly recommend to anyone! Always try and support small businesses!
You can get this adorable basket in any color you’d like here
5. Shelves
Got wall space? A really great way to stay organized is to just have a lot of shelves to put your things on! This one in particular would look amazing in a foyer or entry way! I absolutely love this rustic farmhouse look and I would definitely put this in our entryway when we finish it!
You can get this shelf here
I am patiently counting down the days until the Chickadees come back, the grass starts growing, and the days are longer! We’re probably going to have a huge yard sale to get rid of these items we’ve collected!
What else would you use for home organization? Let me know in the comments!
