I Tried Gwynnie Bee: An Online Subscription Service

July 2, 2018 By Stephanie Hope 1 Comment

I have used so many different apps for purchasing clothing such as Poshmark, ThredUp, and DePop. However, I have never tried a “rental” service! I actually found Gwynnie Bee through an Instagram ad, and I was immediately interested because of the 30 day free trial. Today, we’re reviewing this subscription service and I will be showing you how it works and the clothing I got for my first box! This post is NOT sponsored at all! I really wanted to test something new and see if it’s a good product.

How Does Gwynnie Bee Work?

gwynnie bee

First, I want to explain what interested me about this company. As I have mentioned, it’s a subscription service where you can rent clothing. You pay a flat monthly fee, choose as many clothing as you’d like in your “closet”, and you’ll get sent a couple of items to try on, wear, and then return. Yes, I said RETURN. You can wear these clothes out anywhere, and then send it back to get some new clothes. You have to admit, that sounds amazing! If you truly love the item, you can even buy it at a discount! As someone who needs to constantly be buying new clothing to show off on my Instagram, this really peaked my interest. So I signed up!

Size Profile

First you need to choose what size fits you best. Here you will choose a few brands and the sizes you wear for them. I chose Forever 21 and New York & Company. The options are for dresses, shirts, and bottoms.

Preferences

Next you will get a series of photo comparisons. You have to choose between two outfits on which one you’d prefer to wear. This helps them recommend certain clothing to you.

Choose Clothing

In order to get a box, you must always have at least 6 items in your closet. So, I chose my 6 items and also made a few of them “priority” which means I want them ASAP because they’re so CUTE! Now we wait..

Box Comes In The Mail

HURRAY! I was so excited to see this box! There’s nothing more exciting than new clothes! For my first box, I got 2 dresses sent to me. I was a little disappointed that I got two dresses and not a bit more variety, but I was still excited to try them on.

The first dress was this adorable undersea print from ModCloth! It fit me nicely, but it was a little snug around my lower tummy area. I thought it was a super cute dress, but I would probably go a size up next time!

The second dress was this absolutely stunning floral dress from Gabby Skye. I have actually never heard of this designer before, but if she has more pieces like this I am SOLD! This dress was absolutely gorgeous on my body! The fit was perfect and so flattering to my curves! I usually don’t like sleeveless dresses because of my large arms, but I honestly felt so adorable in this! I used the dress in a sponsored photo, and it really made the photo so much more magical!

I would absolutely buy this dress and never give it up! I was a size 6 in this brand and a size M in ModCloth.

Pricing

From what I see, there are three plans to choose from.

2-Items-At-A-Time: $69/month

3-Items-At-A-Time: $95/month

5-Items-At-A-Time: $139/month

Again, you do get a free 30 day trial to see if you like this before committing. It does seem pretty pricey, but if you take into account the fact that you get clothing sent to you every month that you don’t have to pay for or clean (they will dry clean the clothing), you can wear out as many times as you want, and then return for FREE it’s a pretty amazing deal!

Final Thoughts

gwynnie bee

I absolutely completely love this company. This is such an amazing idea, and I will absolutely be keeping my membership for a while longer to see if I still like it! It caters more towards curvier woman, but they have come out with sizes for smaller women as well!

This is such a great way to remain on trend, always have something new to wear, and be the “fashionista” of your office!

If I had to rate this site, I would give it a 9/10! If you do end up trying it out, let me know how you like it in the comments below or send me photos of your clothing on my Instagram!

i still can’t believe there’s a wee baby insid i still can’t believe there’s a wee baby inside my body right now ready to come out soon. just squirming around, hiccuping. it’s so unreal. the fact that my body just knows what to do despite spending my entire adult life convinced i 1. didn’t want a child and 2. wasn’t capable of being a (good) mother.

if i’m being honest, my fears came from my poor relationship with my own mother. i was raised to be afraid, to never feel like i would be good enough (spoiler alert: never was to her!) but to constantly try, and to feel like i had to buy love from people around me. now i know better. i know that i can just love my daughter unconditionally, help her see that i will ALWAYS be her safe space and never the thing to be afraid of, and that she never has to buy my love.

being a mom is something i never thought i would do, but i am ready to dive in and be the mother i always wanted growing up but never had. 💕 Photos are all from @jaceyanastasio ! #motherhood #pregnancyjourney #maternityshoot
I don’t see my stretch marks as battle scars, ti I don’t see my stretch marks as battle scars, tiger stripes, or a badge of honor. To me, they’re just skin stretching—because that’s what skin does. It doesn’t have to carry a deeper meaning or be a symbol of anything. It doesn’t have to be proof that I’m a mom to make me feel like a mom. My motherhood isn’t defined by the marks on my body; it’s in the love I give, the patience I practice, and the moments that shape this journey.

I don’t need to call my stretch marks anything to accept them, and for me, that’s freeing. They’re not good or bad, beautiful or ugly—they just are. A natural part of being human, of growing, of changing.

That being said, if giving them a name or a purpose helps you embrace them, that’s amazing! Every mom’s journey is different, and so is the way we process the changes that come with it. This is simply what works for me—letting my body be, without pressure to find meaning in every mark. No labels needed, no justification required. Just me, existing as I am. #pregnancyjourney #stretchmarks #pregnancyphotoshoot #maternityshoot
