I have recently become obsessed with oversized sweaters slightly tucked into skirts. You can thank Tan for the French Tuck epidemic. It’s such a great way to look more put together, while maintaining a certain level of casual. Tucking my sweaters into my skirts gives it a refined look while still looking incredibly cozy. Today, I’m going to show you how I styled this gray oversized sweater with a super feminine skirt to create a simple look this Fall.
Gray Oversized Sweater
Fun fact: this sweater is actually a men’s sweater! It’s James sweater and it’s one of my favorites so I’m constantly wearing it. It’s the perfect balance of oversized and fitted thanks to the crew neck collar. The textured pattern on the sweaters provides a dimension that works really well with the lace on the white skirt.
This adorable skirt I thrifted is from Hollister. I feel like a lot of people think skirts are only for the hot seasons, but I always find a way to incorporate skirts and dresses into my style for the cold seasons. Fall is all about layers! Since I took these photos at the beginning of Fall, I kept it simple with just the sweater, skirt, and shoes. However, if the weather was colder, I would have worn tights or thigh high socks to be warmer!

For this outfit, I kept it simple with my favorite pair of nude wedges which kept the look very feminine. Having a pixie cut, I find I need to be more strategic about my clothing choices for an outfit or I’ll look too boyish. Obviously this is just a personal preference as I prefer looking more feminine. Because of this, I usually choose one more masculine piece, such as this oversized sweater, and add lighter pieces that tone it down as a whole.
I finished this look with a very simple necklace I received from one of my FabFitFun boxes, and my current favorite purse in the entire world! Also, the look can’t be complete without my (totally necessary but still stylish) eyeglasses! These ones from EyeBuyDirect are amazing and costs around $30 (prescription is extra but it’s still cheap!)
