With us both working full time, it has been really tough to get renovations done in our home. James has done the majority of the work, and seeing all of the amazing progress makes me so proud of him. He really transformed the space! Note: this post may have some affiliate links.
Here are some before shots of the space
I know what you’re thinking. Yes, this carpet is SO ugly! Living in New England, you will definitely find yourself with really old houses. With old houses comes… old trends. I would hate to live in the decade when retro orange carpet was in.
I had one too many nightmares of this carpet. Oh, and it wasn’t just in the dining room! It’s upstairs too! It takes over your house, and then your soul.
Look at James hard at work! You’re not even going to believe the gorgeous hardwood floors that are under this carpet!
Ahhh! I can’t even express how AMAZING this came out! The gallery wall was done by James and it looks incredible. He managed to incorporate both of our stuff perfectly. Also, how cute are those Edison bulbs? You can get them here!
Since we had started a bad habit of using the dining room table as a landing station, we decided to put this organizer downstairs to keep the table clear. So far it’s effective! You can get this organizer here!
The radiator was originally hidden under a cover, but we thought it would look much better just bare, and we were so right! I love the vintage look with the peeling paint on the radiator. It really fits the space perfectly! These string lights were James’ idea and they look so cute in here! They even have a remote to turn them on/off.
I love all of the quirky art on this wall! I think it really shows both of our personalities so well! What do you guys think? Next stop: the living room!
