I haven’t been to a renaissance festival since I moved here from Florida over seven years ago. Of course, this isn’t really like one of those, but it has the same magic to it. There have been a few other of these in the past years, but I never went to any of them- until now! The Berkshire Mountains Faerie Festival celebrated their 4th annual event in Adams, MA and it was delightful! Living in such a small town, it’s always so heart warming when I get to see festivals come back every year and share their love for what they do, and this one is no different.
Berkshire Faerie Festival
I wasn’t really sure what to expect from the festival, as these kinds tend to be catered to kids. However, I did a lot of the kid’s activities and had so much fun! It’s one of those things where you really should forget your adult and just enjoy yourself. There’s always so many amazing little festivals here in the Berkshires, it’s hard to not just act like a kid all year at these!
Some of the fun activities you could do were magic slime making, wing making, and dragon egg making. I didn’t get around to doing the dragon egg or slime but I did pick a wing and embellish it with some leaves to match my outfit! If you’re worried that the eggs are made will real eggs, do not fret! It’s made from clay!
We walked through all of the vendors and fell in love with the unique handmade items they were selling. There were so many beautiful wands being sold from companies like Wanderful Wands and Greyshire Wands. Vendors sold knitted attire as well as beautiful accessories for kids and adults alike.
I think I was most excited about the face painting! They had a bunch of options, but I was so determined to complete my fairy look, I went with the festival glitter at Paisley Peacock Body Art. The work she did, which was done very quickly, came out so beautiful! I was worried because when she applied it to my face it literally felt like she just plastered a bunch of goo on me, but look at how beautiful this came out!
I didn’t even want to take it off!

The last thing we did before heading out was a quest for the queen! The point of the quest was to find items that would ensure that the Fairies will always reside in the Berkshires. How could I pass on this quest? The fate of the festival lied in our hands!
We had to find:
- A colorful feather to ensure their flight into the skies.
- One stone to honor their loving care of the earth.
- A smiling sticker to bind joy and silliness to their hearts.
- One candy on a stick to keep sweetness always with them.
The quest was actually pretty simple, and likely catered more towards kids, but we got stuck finding one of the items! They’re simply scattered around the festival in tins with the items in them, and once you have them all you bring them back to the queen for her to thank you for your work. It was all very sweet, and we got a photo with the queen!
Overall, this was such a beautiful and wholesome festival. There was amazing vendors, great music, and tons of activities for kids AND adults to enjoy! Some other entertainments there were storytellers, firecraft, a magician, and marionettes. Berkshire Mountain Faerie Festival is a truly magical little place to visit over the Summer here in the Berkshires. I highly recommend you stop by for their 5th annual next year! It’ll be worth it! This festival takes place in Adams, MA and the admission for this year was just $10 which included the entire day.
