I remember when tiny houses became popular and thinking how amazing they looked. There was so many shows on Netflix about them and Youtube quickly became saturated with tiny house tours. For years, I have been dying to actually see one in person and experience it myself but it wasn’t really popular where I lived, and I had no idea people were actually listed them as a place you can stay! When I discovered Think Big! A Tiny House Resort was only about an hour away from us I immediately wanted to stay- so we did!
I can’t believe I was finally going to step foot into a tiny house, after years of wanting to see them in person, and it did not disappoint. There is something so magical about tiny houses. They stand so proudly in all their quirkiness and efficiency. It completely transports you.
Tiny houses are basically an amazing way to show you how you could live large with so little space. It taught me to actually appreciate every little detail about the space and where we were staying, something I often take for granted. This little house had everything you would need, and it did it all with such confidence.
Windows surrounded almost every wall in the house, overlooking the Catskill Creek and mountains nearby. Sitting at the table looking out the window just enjoying being present was probably the best feeling I have felt in a while.
Even though the kitchen was so small, it did everything it needed to to make a nice home-cooked meal. I thought I would start to feel bored being in such a small space for so long without much to do, but I never once felt bored. I felt calm.
We walked around the property which includes nine tiny houses, an adorable little goat & duck barn, and a lovely path to a beautiful waterfall. We need to talk about the goats because they were the cutest things in the world. I could have stayed in their little pen for hours petting them. Just look at how cute they are!
We stayed for two nights and each night was so relaxing for me. We also had the comfort of Netflix at night so it really did feel just like home for me! If you’re interested in booking a stay with them, click here! You can also find them on Instagram here where they post lots of cute photos of the property and goats!
Margie and Melissa, the owners, could not have been any more accommodating and sweet. They really made the stay so easy and amazing for us. Their property is beautiful and its so clear how much they love this resort by how well they take care of the houses, land, and their animals. If you’ve ever been interested in staying in a Tiny House, I could not recommend this resort more. It’s the perfect introduction to the world of Tiny Living.
